And the awesome youth from Quixote Quest Thursdays, 7pm-9pm (Call the Office for Schedule)
When the children from Kids Alley began to grow into teenagers and wanted to remain in the program, it became time for them to form their own group and find their own identity in Christ. It began as 8 youth participated in the Extreme Youth program which started in 2002 and offers music, choir, organized choreography, drama, puppetry skills and technical arts. They also participate in bible study, worship, prayer and leadership discussions as the group met twice a week, to learn and to serve. Bi-weekly youth home group became a regular meeting time at the Prescott's.
Cliff and Marlys Prescott, directors of the Extreme Youth focus on bringing God’s unconditional love to our youth first. Extreme Youth is a place where all teens are accepted and where they learn that God has a purpose for each of their lives. Having that concept is so important to these teens who live under very challenging conditions. The Prescott's goal is to build each of their lives on a strong foundation in Christ through prayer, the Word, worship and relationship. All 25 youth are comfortable with the Prescotts who are there for them any time they call.
One of the youth called the Prescotts one day during a recess in school and requested for prayer because she was very angry at an incident that had taken place and in her words, she did not want to “sin”.
God is raising the Extreme Youth to be a light in their homes and in the community. Come attend one of our youth sessions and you will be amazed with their hearts for the Lord!
On any given Saturday, you can see the youth from Quixote Quest busily involved in the preparation and execution of the Saturday morning program from 9 am to 12:45pm. These youth were required by their club to serve only 2 hours. But they have gone over and above the call of duty to serve the children of Camden with enthusiasm and passion.
